I grew up in n.e. okla - craig co. trips I made from texas to n.e. Okla I noticed the mounds along us hwy. 69 and wondered if these were some sort of burial ground for Indians. Or had some religious significance.

Oklahoma is full of these mounds also. I lived in Chouteau Oklahoma and there are these mounds spaced a few miles apart all the way through Muskogee Oklahoma. The Will Rogers museum in Claremore Oklahoma elaborates a bit on the indians and how these mounds go back thousands of years and were the trading route for the ancient indians all the way into Mexico.
